Cardboard Automata

Automaton -  is a self-operating machine, or a machine or control mechanism designed to follow automatically a predetermined sequence of operations, or respond to predetermined instructions.[1] Some automata, such as bellstrikers in mechanical clocks, are designed to give the illusion to the casual observer that they are operating under their own power. Inspired by The Tinkering Studio, we've offered our "Cardboard Automata" class in the Innovation Lab a couple of times now and are starting to get the hang of it. We'll be presenting this program again in March, so watch for the calendar to be published soon.
This video also includes a special automata made in recognition of Valentine's Day - who says Makers can't be romantic?
