    January 2016
    Hello Students and Parents!

I am looking forward to meeting each one you and to the rest of the 2015-2016 school year. This school year starts my eighth year at Marcus and my twenty-nineth year teaching math. Last year was one of my best years ever and I am sure looking forward to starting a new semester!smile

I have taught in Lubbock (which is "home"), San Angelo, Uvalde, and Denton. I feel very fortunate to be with the Lewisville district and even more fortunate to be here at Marcus. The first time I walked into the school, I felt at home because I am a Texas Tech Red Raider graduate (all the red!). I earned a Master of Science in Mathematics Teaching degree in 2013 from TWU. Each July, I teach with the Summer Math Institute at UNT. I help co-sponsor the Marcus chapter of TAFE, Texas Association of Future Educators. If you are interested in a teaching career, we would love to acquaint you with TAFE information!

I have a 21 year-old daughter who works part-time at Dennard's, a western tack store in Pilot Point, and attends NCTC for her basic classes and cosmetology. She plans to attend UNT once her basics are completed to become a science educator. She will use her cosmetology license to work her way through school. My older brother, Randy, lives in Omaha, NE with his family. He and his wife are huge NASCAR fans and met with Jeff Gordon Friday, 08/21! My younger brother, Jerry, his wife, and children live in Burnet, TX.

On this web page is the class syllabus that discusses supplies, grading policy, and class guidelines. We have a lot to accomplish this semester so it is very important that we follow the class syllabus. If you have any questions about the class syllabus, please email (andersenb@lisd.net).wide eyes

Again, I look forward a new semester. I just know it's going to be a great one!big grin

    Sincerely,
    Ms. Brenda Andersen
